Required Source Code Update for Business Central connections through Power BI

As of 9/6/24, the latest version of Business Central does not accept [null] as a valid 4th connection parameter. This likely doesn't mean much to you, but it does require action on your part to ensure your published Power BI reports which have at least one connection to a Business Central web service to be updated to accommodate.

Failure to update the connection string will render the data model unable to refresh from the Power BI Service.

To address the issue, you must update the second line of code for each Power BI query sourced from a Business Central web service. To do this, open the Power Query Editor (also referred to as "Transform Data"). Then, select the relevant Business Central queries (must be done individually) and select from the toolbar "Advanced Editor".

In the advanced editor screen, locate the 2nd line of code under the "let" line. Please copy the string below to update yourself. Please see two attached screenshots for what this query should look like both before and after the manual update.

Before:

Source = Dynamics365BusinessCentral.ApiContentsWithOptions(null, null, null, null),

After:

Source = Dynamics365BusinessCentral.ApiContentsWithOptions(null, null, null, [UseReadOnlyReplica = null]),

Please don't hesitate to open a ticket with Cargas support for any assistance or questions on these procedures.
